Spring Doughnuts With Rose Petals and Pistachio

I’m a terrible baker and not a big sweet tooth but have been trying to think of some simple things that I can bring to picnics that are a little sweet. I found these doughnuts on Trotski & Ash – an awesome food blog based in melbourne. I adjusted the recipe by sprinkling crushed dried rose petals (available in asian grocers and tea shops) and finely chopped unsalted pistachios. The topping didn’t stick too well to them, so I wonder if you could spray them with rose water to help get them to stick? I’ll try that next time… or sprinkle less sugar and cinnamon on the top perhaps.

I’m not going to write up the recipe because it really is not my own to do so, but take a look at Trotski & Ash and consider the rose+pistachio combination if you try them.
